LifeSite Reports:
Cardinal Burke Calls for Consecration of Russia
Father Gruner Vindicated

by Christopher A. Ferrara
May 19, 2017

LifeSite News has just reported today that Cardinal Raymond Burke “issued a call this morning for the Catholic faithful to ‘work for the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.’”

Burke, of course, is one of the four cardinals who have submitted dubia to Pope Bergoglio concerning the disastrous Amoris Laetitia, which has shattered the bimillenial Eucharistic discipline of the Church forbidding Holy Communion to adulterers who decline to cease engaging in adulterous relations with their “second wives” or “second husbands” while still bound perpetually to a sacramental marriage with spouses they dare to call “my ex.”

Burke, LifeSite notes, “made his appeal at the Rome Life Forum, in the month of the centenary of Our Lady of Fatima’s first apparition to the three shepherd children.”  The Forum, to put it simply, was convened by concerned members of the clergy and laity to address the looming catastrophe of this out-of-control pontificate.

Burke called for Russia’s consecration during an address entitled “The Secret of Fatima and a New Evangelization.” Tellingly, his talk was attended by “fellow dubia Cardinal Carlo Caffarra,” along with “outspoken Kazakhstan Bishop Athanasius Schneider and over 100 life and family leaders from 20 nations…”  As noted here more than once, it was none other than Cardinal Caffarra who was warned by Sister Lucia in a letter that “the final battle between the Lord and the reign of Satan will be about marriage and the family.”

Burke’s address observed that “the triumph of the Immaculate Heart would mean much more than the ending of world wars, and the physical calamities that Our Lady of Fatima predicted.”  “As horrible as are the physical chastisements associated with man’s disobedient rebellion before God,” said Burke, “infinitely more horrible are the spiritual chastisements for they have to do with the fruit of grievous sin: eternal death.”  A subject never mentioned any longer by the generality of post-Vatican II prelates.

In a bombshell declaration, Burke “expressed agreement with one of the foremost Fatima scholars, Frère Michel de la Sainte Trinité, who said that the promised triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary undoubtedly refers firstly to ‘the victory of the Faith, which will put an end to the time of apostasy, and the great shortcomings of the Church’s pastors.’”

Leaving no doubt of where he stands, Cardinal Burke declared: “Certainly, Pope Saint John Paul II consecrated the world, including Russia, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on March 25, 1984. But, today, once again, we hear the call of Our Lady of Fatima to consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart, in accord with her explicit instruction.”

No longer the opinion merely of unjustly derided “Fatimites,” the call for Russia’s consecration by name to the Immaculate Heart is now being raised ever more insistently in the Catholic “mainstream” as alarm over the ruinous course of this pontificate grows (with rumors even of a pending “modification” of Humanae Vitae to go along with the practical accommodation of divorce now in progress following Amoris Laetitia).

Now LifeSite is able to report, matter-of-factly, that “The want for the ‘explicit’ mention of Russia in the consecration as requested by Our Lady was desired by Pope John Paul II, but not undertaken due to pressure from counselors. This fact was confirmed most recently by the official representative of Pope Francis at the Fatima anniversary celebration last week in Karaganda, Kazakhstan.”

What a vindication of the work of Father Nicholas Gruner. It was he who dedicated his priestly mission to obtaining the Consecration of Russia, opposing the efforts of papal “advisors” to block it, and promoting precisely the works of Frère Michel de la Sainte Trinité, distributing them in translations throughout the world and citing them innumerable times in the apostolate’s internationally published books and articles.

But, as Father would be the first to say, the only vindication that really matters is the vindication of the Mother of God when Her explicit instruction is finally obeyed and the world beholds the miraculous results.
