The People of Italy Reject
the EU-orchestrated Muslim Invasion
Safe Behind Vatican Walls, Cardinal Parolin Demands It

The people of Italy have had enough of the EU-mandated Muslim invasion of their country. In a political earthquake that has all but destroyed the Left as a force in the Italian parliament, the so-called populist and anti-EU party Five Star Movement (M5S) and the League (La Lega, formerly the Northern League), which heads a center-right coalition, garnered a total majority of more than 58% in the elections of March 5 (32.6 percent and 35.7 percent, respectively).
As The Guardian observes, Italy and Europe must now “digest” the news “that a majority of Italian voters had supported Eurosceptic candidates in the national election…” Under the Italian constitution, the current President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, must now determine which of the two parties will head a new majority government.
This result is a clear popular reaction against the “open borders” insanity that is convulsing Italy, France, Germany and Austria. Indeed, the Five Star Movement, headed by Luigi DiMaio, ran on a promise to deport 500,000 illegal aliens.
The Vatican’s reaction was drearily predictable. In his address to the Plenary Assembly of the International Catholic Commission for Migration, given the day after the Italian elections, Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin indulged in the usual Vatican virtue-signaling and Leftist sloganeering. Parolin denounced “the refusal to welcome” and belittled the idea that EU-enforced mass Muslim migration presents “an emergency, or a danger, even though it has become a characteristic element of our societies.” By “characteristic element of our societies” Parolin means a government-imposed distortion of societies, orchestrated in Brussels.
Parolin could not fail to note that Pope Francis is leading the charge for the Muslim invasion of a post-Christian Europe that is now finally reacting against the EU’s campaign to extinguish whatever is left of its Christian identity. “Pope Francis,” he declared, “reminds us that ‘a change of attitude towards migrants and refugees is needed on the part of everyone, moving away from attitudes of defensiveness and fear, indifference and marginalization… towards attitudes based on a culture of encounter, the only culture capable of building a better, more just and fraternal world.’”
Yes, according to Francis and his Vatican, it is only “attitudes of defensiveness and fear, indifference and marginalization” that have motivated the Italian people to rise up against the EU’s Islamicization program. But while Parolin hurls demagogic darts at the Italian people, whose nation is sinking into poverty and social dissolution as its government spends more on illegal Muslim immigrants than on Italy’s own poor, he and the rest of the Vatican apparatus live in luxury behind forty-foot-high walls. Within Vatican City they are protected 24/7 by a heavily armed security force that will not allow a single solitary soul to reside in their manicured enclave without an elaborate process of severely limited visa approval, perhaps the strictest in the world.
Open borders are for the rest of us, you see. As is the reduced carbon footprint that Francis and company demand for every nation while he and a 100-plus entourage jet all over the world, consuming an ocean of fossil fuel for pointless trips to useless spectacles that have nothing to do with the divine commission to make disciples of all nations.
In politics, as in matters of faith within the Church, at this moment in history it is the common people who are attempting to maintain sanity in the midst of a diabolical confusion that has afflicted their own leaders with a death wish. Meanwhile, only the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary following the Consecration of Russia will be able to restore a once Christian civilization to its proper foundations. That triumph will be, as Antonio Socci says, a victory for Christ and His Church even greater than the one at Lepanto, “a radical and extraordinary change in the world, an overthrow of the mentality dominating modernity, probably following dramatic events for humanity.”
Lord that we may live to see it.
