U.N. Demands that Poland Have Abortion on
Demand
by Christopher A. Ferrara
As Cardinal Sodano
goes his merry way promoting the United Nations and its evil outgrowth, the
International Criminal Court, the UN continues to flex its muscles and demand
that predominantly Catholic nations legalize abortion the veritable
"sacrament" of "liberty" in the New World Order.
On November 9, 2004
LifeSiteNews.com reported that "The United Nations Human Rights Committee
(UNHRC) concluded a review on Poland's compliance with the International
Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), demanding that the
mostly-Catholic nation liberalize its abortion laws. The UN
committee composed of 18 UN human rights experts from various
countries met with Polish officials on October 27 and 28, making its
observations and recommendations on November 4."
The "Human Rights"
Committee specifically concluded that Poland, where abortion is already legal
in certain "hard cases, needs many more abortions than it already permits
and "should liberalize its legislation and practice on abortion." In other
words, the UN wants abortion on demand in Poland and throughout the New
World Order.
The "Human Rights"
Committee not only expressed "deep concern about restrictive abortion laws in
Poland," it also "pushed contraception and sex-education." As its report
concluded: "The State party (Poland) should assure the availability of
contraceptives and free access to family planning services and methods. The
Ministry of Education should ensure that schools include accurate and objective
sexual education in their curricula."
LifeSite quotes
Lech Kowalewski, spokesman for the Polish Federation of Pro-life Movements, who
denounced the UN report as an "attack on the sovereignty of Poland." Kowalewski
"is concerned that the UN report may influence the Polish government to adopt a
pro-abortion bill which is under consideration
" Meanwhile, says LifeSite,
"Abortion supporters in the Polish Parliament welcomed the UN demands.
These regulations have to be changed but that needs serious
discussion, Cezary Mizejewski, secretary of state at the Social Affairs
Ministry
We cannot keep to the old view that everything is fine
and just close our eyes, he said." This is the Popes own country,
mind you, where His Holiness is practically idolized.
In June 2004 the
"mainstream" Catholic journal Catholic World News ran an article
entitled "Strange Alliance: The Vaticans Curious Enthusiasm for the UN."
The article notes, with evident disapproval, the Popes own statement that
"the Holy See considers the United Nations organization a significant means for
promoting the universal common good." With all due respect to His Holiness,
there is no evidence whatsoever to support that rosy assessment of an
organization whose aims are manifestly at variance not only with the Catholic
faith, but with the natural law.
The Vaticans
enthusiasm for the UN is indeed "curious," for it is contrary to what one would
expect of Catholic prelates whose mission is to advance the kingdom of the
Church, not one world government. That the Popes own country is now
targeted with UN demands for more abortion, while the Pope remains silent, is
also very curious. But such is the unprecedented crisis in the Church today.
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!
